Marriage Licenses

Marriage Licenses are issued by appointment only.  Printing off the Intention form and filling out ahead of coming into the office will save time (see attachment below) DO NOT SIGN THE INTENTION FORM UNTIL YOU COME IN FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.  

Maine residents must file marriage intentions and obtain a marriage license from only one town where either the bride or groom resides if the bride and groom reside in different Maine towns.

Non-Residents who wish to marry in Maine may file marriage intentions and obtain a marriage license form any Maine town that issues marriage licenses.

Bride and groom must show photo ID, have their social security numbers and if there were previous marriages, they must show either a certified death certificate or a certified or true attested copy of their last divorce decree.
